There was a time in the early 2000s when The Spoils would travel to Ballarat 10 times a year playing with the likes of The Dead Salesmen, The Rye Catchers and later The Rectifiers and Underminers (and even one time – Epicure - escorted by their parents) plus other luminaries of Melbourne's Punter's Club scene that often migrated to the music capital of the Goldfields. As the off stage harmonies of Paddy O' Driscoll mixed with the stink from the male toilets of the Bridge Mall Inn wafted into the crowd the Spoils' songs of love, loss and regret wafted with it.
For the first time in many years Spoils front man Sean Simmons returns to the Rat in solo mode armed with only his guitar, loop pedal and a drone box for a special intimate performance in the Lost Ones Basement Bar.
