Basement Session: Georgia State Line

  • The Lost Ones Basement Bar 14 Camp Street Ballarat Central (map)

Honest, agile, and refreshingly self-assured, Georgia State Line’s unique brand of country-infused melancholy yields music that’s equal parts heartsick and hopeful.

Fronted by lauded songwriter Georgia Delves, the band melds both vintage and contemporary sounds to craft songs steeped in Tennessee sunsets. Delves’ voice is effortlessly colourful, lyrical and textural with a depth and grace to rival even the most revered of talents.

With years of touring and collaboration under their belt, the group has performed alongside Wagons and Margo Price at Out On The Weekend, at the National Folk Festival, and opened for country music heavyweights Eilen Jewell (USA) and Justin Townes Earle (USA).

Joining Delves at The Lost Ones, Ballarat will be long time collaborator and “natural born story teller” Patrick Wilson. Together the pair quit their day jobs in 2018, packed their lives into a van and played extensively along the East coast of Australia before returning to Melbourne with a fresh set of road-warmed elegies. Rich in craftsmanship, Wilson’s trademark sound and approach to songwriting are gifts only strengthened by the life he breathes into performance.

We are big believers in ensuring our artists are paid well for their time. You can contribute to Georgia State Line’s performance in the full knowledge that the more people who attend, the more money they will receive. Reward the arts and it will reward you. Contribute $15 and you’ll get a drink as a “thank you”.
